「 Nine Thousand Li 」Hetian Jade Bead Pendant

Small as the jade bead is, it carries a grand spirit within.
Above the rippling waves, a pair of wings unfurls—forward lie the surging billows; upward stretches the boundless sky.
Named “Nine Thousand Li”, this pendant draws inspiration from Zhuangzi: “When the roc migrates to the southern ocean, it beats the water for three thousand li and rises on the whirlwind to a height of nine thousand li”. It embodies the quiet aspiration for freedom and lofty ideals—not vying for glory, nor competing for rank.
Crafted from gemstones of varying hues—Baoshan southern red agate, Hetian black jade, Hubei turquoise, Myanmar yellow jade, and purple Hetian jade—each stone is engraved with the same motif, yet exudes a distinct charm of its own. Some favor the warm sincerity of red, others the calm poise of dark jade, and some are drawn to the subtle mystery of purple.
Four layers of bas-relief, arranged in delicate, staggered tiers and polished to perfection, capture the dynamic stretch of the wings with crisp, understated lines—sharp yet unostentatious. Framed with an 18K gold bezel, the setting embraces the jade gently, balancing the stone’s soft luster with a touch of sturdy elegance.
To cleave the waves for three thousand li does not necessarily mean embarking on a distant journey; though rooted in the mortal world, the heart can soar on the whirlwind.
