The designer’s original vision was simply to infuse this small pendant with the warm, smooth hues of jade.
While rubies, sapphires and emeralds belong more to Western aesthetics,
Southern Red Agate and Bixie Jade are not only naturally plump and vibrant, but also capable of carrying forward traditional Chinese jade carving craftsmanship.
This time, the “Bud” shape is transformed into a semi-three-dimensional relief—
A design that drastically increases the inlay difficulty, yet perfectly unites jade and gold in seamless harmony.
The bat’s wing contours echo the undulations of the pendant’s lines;
Its head, tail and claws are cleverly integrated into the inlay prongs—
Securing the jade firmly while preserving the pendant’s elegant agility.
Born alongside the “Bat Blossom” gold medallion,
One is sleek and minimalist, the other colorful and rich;
One is concise and refined, the other full and nourishing.
